Flexible chain mulcher with a 5.4 m reach!

Trejon proudly presents a new model in the chain mulcher segment, the Trejon Optimal M1650 Storm. The machine meets the market's increased need for reach and flexible movement pattern. With this model, the entire ditch can be mowed, including the back slope, and mowing at 90 degrees angle makes it possible to cut down hanging branches for better road vision. The drive of the head is fully hydraulic through its own hydraulic system.

Trejon has more than 20 years of experience in developing and producing chain mulchers and this new model is based on the predecessor M1650 and a larger pre-study with customers and dealers. Parts that are also found in the new model are, for example, the chain head made entirely of Hardox steel and the collision protection that automatically lifts the machine when it folds backwards at an obstacle.

- "It was clear in our user study that they wanted both a slightly longer reach and an extended movement pattern with a tiltable head. Being able to work efficiently in all positions without having to think about the angle of driveshafts or similar was also requested," says Anders Johansson, responsible Product Developer at Trejon."

The improved geometry has been achieved through several new solutions. On the one hand, the proven parallelogram is the first part towards the tractor, but on the M1650 Storm it is combined with a telescopic arm. Together these provide both a greater movement pattern and a greater overall reach of up to 5.4 m from the centre of the tractor. The mowing head has built-in floating in the direction of travel, which gives an even and fine ground following.

The next part to improve the geometry is the built in hydraulic drive system that drives the head, which provides full operating function regardless of the position and angle of the head. The head has been equipped with a hydraulic cylinder on the tilt function and can then, among other things, cut the rear slope of a ditch as well as 90 degrees vertically continuously. The hydraulic drive system consists of an axial piston pump and motor and has a large 150-litre tank with oil cooler that is optimally positioned as a counterweight. Thanks to high quality components and a high system pressure, a very high efficiency and a power output at the head is achieved.

Trejon Optimal M1650 Storm is designed for demanding work in varying terrain. Thanks to its robust construction, it can effectively handle work in ditches and other bushy areas. Tree debris and bushes are broken up and regrowth is significantly slower. The higher ground clearance at the joint between the boom and stick makes it possible to work along roadside railings and lower fences.

The machine is easily manoeuvred from the cab with a proportional electric joystick. It is easy to connect with only one PTO shaft and hydraulics with pressure and free return. Thanks to few components with less moving parts, the machine has an easy service and low maintenance cost. As standard, the service hatch in the front of the head can be hydraulically operated for easier access.
